Antique Red pipe Organ coral

£850

An antique natural history interest red coral specimen, 22cm wide. The Red Pipe Organ coral (Tubipora musica) is an alcyonarian coral native to the waters of the Indian Ocean and the central and western regions of the Pacific Ocean. It is the only known species of the genus Tubipora. This species is a soft coral but with a unique, hard skeleton of calcium carbonate that contains many organ pipe-like tubes

I am captivated by the emotional charge and structural perfection of this natural sculpture. It is a stunning example of the beauty found in scientific rarity, perfectly suited for a Cabinet of Curiosities display. We see this as an essential Mementos & Curiosities item, providing a fascinating connection between deep-sea biology and sophisticated interior design. It serves as a striking reminder of nature’s endless artistry.
